From the airport to your hotel, you will surely notice the beautiful sugar cane field in both side of the road. Sugar has-been instrumental in the development of the island, part the island was covered with cane fields gradually goal –other industries -have taken over and there are many more plants on the island.

The adventure starts here sugar – behind the facade of the factory building – with stories woven around the sugar life story. Then visit the huge factory, old machine decade adorned with thousands of lights. A sugarcane hedge leads you to the fully restored and converted factory and films evoking the early years of Mauritius appear on giant screens.
The plant was used until the 1970s to transport bags of sugar in the port. Today you can see how the wharves were discovered and their importance to Mauritius. L’Aventure du sucre is for all ages and was designed to be of interest to international and local visitors. Behind a simple word like sugar, Sugar Adventure has attempted to reveal the soul of Mauritius.
